20 Inventionen is a cyclic piece consisting of twenty short piano pieces.

As an installation object, 20 Inventionen works in a space with twenty portable turntables. Each turntable represents one music station…

… and each station represents one piece – one invention – on one side of 7-inch record. With average duration between 1.5 and 2.5 minutes, the pieces are specific for their punctuality, extended use of breaks and humorous nature.

Entering the space, the visitor has the freedom to shift from station to station and play the turntables in any order.

Playing multiple records simultaneously with additional visitors is possible.

The installation offers space and time for complete dedication to particular piece of music…
