Bringing together three distinctive voices from the field of contemporary improvised music, Millà – Gordoa – Malfon is a trio dedicated to deep listening, timbral exploration, and collective real-time creation.

Their music unfolds through subtle gestures, evolving textures, and a heightened attention to the smallest sonic details. Piano, vibraphone, percussion, and saxophone engage in an open dialogue where form emerges organically, moving between density and silence, tension and resonance.

Rather than relying on predetermined structures, the trio creates sound environments shaped by constant interaction and mutual responsiveness. Each contribution influences the collective landscape, allowing the music to develop with both precision and spontaneity. The result is an immersive listening experience that reveals the richness of improvised processes and the expressive potential of sound in motion.

Susanna Gartmayer studierte Malerei und Druckgrafik und arbeitet seit Anfang der 2000er Jahre als Bassklarinettistin und Komponistin in diversen Feldern der Experimentalmusik. Sie ist Mitglied wie auch Gründerin zahlreicher Ensembles für improvisierte und organisierte Musik. Ihr besonderes Interesse gilt den vielstimmigen Klangmöglichkeiten der tiefen Klarinetten, offenen Kompositionsformen, multiideomatischer Improvisation sowie Theorie und Praxis gemeinschaftlicher Arbeitsprozesse.
Seit 2015 organisiert sie im Kollektiv die Monday Improvisers Session, ein wöchentlicher Treffpunkt für Improvisator*innen aus Wien und aller Welt.
