SOLO, DUO, TRIO

Thomas Canna – Perkussion
Ana Kravanja – Violine, Stimme
Biliana Voutchkova – Violine, Stimme

Solo, Duo, Trio brings together three composer-performers. While Biliana works continuously with Ana and Thomas, this evening marks their first encounter together.  Rooted in spontaneity, attentive listening and intuition, the music draws on personal histories, common aesthetics, song traditions from their respective lands, and mutual interest in presence and the emergence of the sound in the moment of each gathering.

Biliana Voutchkova is a deeply engaged composer-performer, violinist, curator and educator with highly individual artistic voice. Her work incorporates expanded and continuously evolving sonic and physical capacities in the field of contemporary music, improvisation, long durational and multidisciplinary performance, with focus on the interconnection between inner world and sound space. Biliana is an active performer, founder and curator of DARA String Festival, a composition faculty member at HKB Bern, and recipient of multiple grants and awards.

Thomas Canna is a percussionist and improviser focused on contemporary sound and compositional practices.
His work stems from the idea that every sonic element inherently possesses a frequency capable of interacting with external forces that seek to uncover its essence. At the heart of this research lies the concept of resonance, and he will premiere a study that will be part of his upcoming solo album, currently in preparation. https://www.thomascanna.com/
