Free improvisation trio Rapid Zen crafts an unexpected sonic dimension that constantly reshapes itself between chaotic and meditative collages. Thru layers of turntablism, extended double bass, inventive percussion and fragmented vocal interventions, RZ interacts fluently standing far from any predictable label. Since 2024 Rapid Zen is active in the avant garde jazz and free improvisation scene and their debut album Fried Brain released by greek label Defkaz has collected excellent reviews.
Gonçalo Almeida (Lisbon) is a Portuguese double bassist based in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. With a strong interdisciplinary and collaborative approach to his work, Gonçalo plays in a variety of projects that go from modern jazz, free jazz, jazzcore and free improvised music, having shared the stage with improvisers such has Ab Baars, Balasz Pandi, Chris Speed, Carlos Zíngaro, Ig Henneman, Fred Lonberg-Holm, Jasper Stadhouders, Jorrit Dijkstra, Luis Vicente, Luis Lopes, Martin van Duynhoven, Nina Hitz, Peter Jacquemyn, Rodrigo Amado, Susana Santos Silva,Tobias Klein, Wilbert de Joode, among others. Devoted to double bass solo, already with five solo albums, and maintaining an active role in presenting himself on concert solo format, he is as well the founder and bass player of Hydra Ensemble, Lama Trio, Albatre, The Attic and member of Spinifex, The Selva, Tabula Sonorum Duo and Luis Vicente trio.

Barbara Togander (SWE) is a vocal artist, turntablist, free improvisor, composer and sound artist born in Uddevalla, Sweden, currently based in Barcelona. She has lived more than 40 years in Buenos Aires, Argentina, where in the early 90’s she delves into free, experimental music and free improvisation where she deepens in the sound possibilities of the voice, the turntable and electronics. With 14 albums released up to date she has played and collaborated with a great number of musicians and groups such as Otomo Yoshihide, Julián Galay, Enrique Norris, Vinzenz Schwab, Andrea Parkins, Philip Leitner, Christoff Kurzmann, Christian Reiner, Capitanes de la Industria, Manolo Rodriguez, Carlos Costa, Larry Polansky, Chris Mann, Camila Nebbia, Violeta García, Dieb13,Santiago Vazquez, Paul Pignon, Luis Conde among many others.

Vasco Trilla (Barcelona) is one of the most active, versatile and creative drummers of the European scene. He has recorded more than 100 albums ranging from free improvisation, jazz rock to progressive rock metal and ambient music. In recent years he has become one of the most solid and in-demand voices of the European free improvised scene. He has collaborated with Jamaaladeen Tacuma, Ra Kalam, Bob Moses, Mars Williams, Patrick Shiroishi, Elliot Sharp, Steve Swell, Susana Santos Silva, Jasper Stadhouders among many others. He has toured internationally including Brasil, China, Indonesia, Russia, Norway, Poland Portugal, Germany.

Florin Stanzer ist bildender Künstler und lebt und arbeitet in Wien. Im Zentrum seiner Praxis stehen kollektive Prozesse und die Erforschung von Gemeinschaftsbildung. Seine künstlerischen Arbeiten bewegen sich häufig im institutionellen Randbereich. Er schreibt und gestaltet Hörstücke und Performances. Als aktives Mitglied der Bussi Gruppe arbeitet er an kollektiven Experimenten im öffentlichen Raum sowie an Performances zu den Themen Gentrifizierung und (Wieder-)Aneignung von Räumen. Er studierte Ortsbezogene Kunst an der Universität für angewandte Kunst Wien. 2024–2025 baute er die Parkettorgel, eine Art übergroßes Portativ mit zwei Keilbälgen und primitiver Mechanik. Mit den Komponist:innen Forrest Moody sowie Bogdana Dima arbeitet er an ersten Veröffentlichungen.
Forrest Moody ist ein Komponist und Pianist, der zwischen Graz und Westschweden lebt. In seinen Kompositionen arbeitet er mit Formen des Erinnerns als eigenständige musikalische Größe, deren poetischen Wirkung er in Harmonie, Rhythmus und Zeitstruktur erforscht. Außerdem reflektiert er bspw. in seinem Text „why I play my own music“ über ökonomische Bedingungen zeitgenössischen Musikschaffens. Er studierte Klavier in New York sowie Komposition in Graz.
Die mikrotonale Parkettorgel ist ein Projekt des Künstlers Florin Stanzer und des Komponisten Forrest Moody. Die aus wiederverwertetem Eichenparkett gebaute Orgel wird ohne Tastatur gespielt, indem Luft von den Bälgen direkt in die Pfeifen gepumpt wird. Das Wechselspiel der Bälge erzeugt rhythmische Figuren, während die Manipulation der Luftsäulen durch einen zweiten Spieler eine präzise tonale Kontrolle ermöglicht. Die klanglichen Möglichkeiten reichen von mikrotonalen Tonhöhenabstufungen, die fein abgestimmte Intervallverhältnisse erlauben, bis hin zu komplexen Geräuschstrukturen. Das Duo komponiert gemeinsam für das Instrument mit hybriden Methoden, manchmal mit präziser Notation, meist jedoch ohne. Der dialogische Kompositionsprozess reicht vom Instrumentenbau bis zum Stück und führt wieder dorthin zurück.
