Ilia Belorukov<\/strong> (Modular Synthesizer) & Leonel Kaplan<\/strong> (Kornett)<\/p>\n

A duo featuring two pioneers of contemporary improvised music in their respective countries, Russia and Argentina. Now based in Serbia, they collaborate, pushing sonic boundaries through a modular synthesizer and cornet. Their music is an unpredictable dialogue between sound and silence, with each performance unfolding spontaneously. Listeners can expect a journey through textures, bold improvisations, and deep artistic exploration.<\/p>\n

Ilia Belorukov<\/strong> is a musician from Saint Petersburg, Russia, now based in Novi Sad, Serbia. He works in improvised, noise, and electroacoustic music. Ilia practices an experimental approach to sound extraction using saxophone, modular synthesizers, and other instruments. His works have been released on labels such as Clean Feed, SOFA, Moving Furniture, Astral Spirits, Notice Recordings, Raw Tonk, Mikroton, and many others. He founded the Intonema label and was one of the curators of the Spina!Rec label. He has organized events in Saint Petersburg and elsewhere in Russia, and co-curated the Teni Zvuka and Spina!Fest festivals. Since the 2000s, Leonel Kaplan<\/strong> has been an active participant in the international free improvisation music scene. He has toured and recorded worldwide with renowned musicians such as Christof Kurzmann, John Butcher, Klaus Fillip, Tetuzi Akiyama, Audrey Chen, Jonas Kocher, Paul Pignon, Birgit Ulher, Axel D\u00f6rner, Nate Wooley, Greg Kelly, Franz Hautzinger, Le Quan Ninh, Bhob Rainey, Michel Doneda, Tatsuya Nakatani, Marina D\u017eukljev, and Ivar Grydeland, among many others.
\nIn addition, Kaplan composes music for dance, theater, and light installations, collaborating on projects with Allora & Calzadilla, Capriconnection, Nicole Bindler, Ly Thanh Thien, and Aleksandra Stratimirovic. Thomas Berghammer<\/strong> (Trompete) & Ming Wang<\/strong> (Guzheng)<\/p>\n

Ming Wang<\/strong> wurde in Taipei, Taiwan, geboren. Nach einem Malereistudium studierte sie die traditionellen chinesischen Zupfinstrumente Guzheng und Pipa an der Chinese Culture University in Taiwan. Ab 1989 setzte sie ihr Studium der Komposition und elektronischen Komposition an der Universit\u00e4t f\u00fcr Musik und darstellende Kunst Wien fort, unter anderem bei Prof. Dieter Kaufmann. Sowohl 1997 als auch 2003 schloss sie ihre Studien jeweils mit einstimmiger Auszeichnung ab.
\nSeit 1989 tritt sie in Europa st\u00e4ndig mit musikalischen Darbietungen auf den chinesischen Zupfinstrumenten Guzheng und Pipa auf und h\u00e4lt musikwissenschaftliche Vortr\u00e4ge. Als Solistin wirkte sie bei zahlreichen Werken renommierter KomponistInnen mit, darunter die Opernauff\u00fchrungen \u201eMarco Polo\u201c von Tan, Dun, \u201eNight Banquet\u201c von Guo, Wenjing, das Solokonzert \u201eInvisible Landscapes for Zheng, Percussion, Piano and Ensemble\u201c von Chen, Xiaoyong und \u201eLe Livre des Merveilles \u2013 Concerto pour Guzheng\u201c von Tristan Murail (Urauff\u00fchrung). Zudem war sie bei Solo- und Kammermusikabenden beteiligt, die Urauff\u00fchrungen europ\u00e4ischer KomponistInnen pr\u00e4sentierten. Ihre instrumentalen und elektronischen Kompositionen wurden bei internationalen Festivals wie \u201eWien Modern\u201c, \u201eSteirischer Herbst\u201c, \u201eCarinthischer Sommer\u201c und dem \u201eBeijing Modern Music Festival 2013\u201c aufgef\u00fchrt. Ming Wang ist seit vielen Jahren als freischaffende Komponistin, Musikp\u00e4dagogin und Interpretin t\u00e4tig, sowohl in den Bereichen der traditionellen chinesischen Musik als auch der zeitgen\u00f6ssischen und improvisierten Musik.<\/p>\n

Thomas K. Berghammer\u00a0 <\/strong>In Wien lebender Trompeter und Veranstalter (Monday Improvisers Session) bewegt sich in den Genres frei improviserte Musik, Zeitgen\u00f6ssischen Jazz und World Music. Seit seinen Studienzeiten in Linz und Graz lotet er melodische M\u00f6glichkeiten verschiedener Pentatoniken und Symetrischen Skalen aus. Besonderes Interesse gilt der Suche nach erweiterten, nicht herk\u00f6mmlichen Kl\u00e4ngen und den harmonkalischen und klanglichen Gestaltung mit Trompete und gleichzeitig eingesetzten Gesang (Soloprojekt „Frames of K“). Seine musikalisch umfangreichen Besch\u00e4ftigungen f\u00fchrten ihn zu Kooperationen und Konzerte mit Mars Williams, Marco Eneidi, Joe McPhee, Roscoe Mitchell, Georg Gr\u00e4we, Oskar Aichinger, Jo\u00eblle Leandre, Wolfgang Mitterer, Wolfgang Reisinger, Alexander von Schlippenbach, Peter Herbert, Frank Gratkowski, Tobias Delius, Mamadou Diabate und Ensembles wie Orchester 33 1\/3, Grubenklang Orchestra, u.v.a.m.
