Ausstellungsdauer: 10. – 31.Januar 2025<\/strong><\/p>\n

Die Arbeiten von Andreas Trobollowitsch bewegen sich zwischen\u00a0konzeptuellen und ortsspezifischen Kompositionen, Performances, Klangobjekten und Zeicheninstallationen. Die zum Einsatz kommenden Materialien sind zumeist pr\u00e4parierte\/selbst entwickelte Musikinstrumente, modifizierte Alltagsgegenst\u00e4nde und Pflanzen, die von Rotationssystemen, Performer:innen oder sich ver\u00e4ndernden Aggregatzust\u00e4nden (zum Beispiel schmelzendes Eis) aktiviert und\/oder manipuliert werden. Interessiert an der Dichotomie des Intellektuellen und des Physischen bezieht er dabei visuelle Aspekte, R\u00e4umlichkeiten sowie Bewegung mit ein und bedient sich dabei einer spielerischen Praxis,\u00a0die das Experiment und die Klangfarbe in den Mittelpunkt stellt. Ein Einblick.<\/p>\n

Bei den Arbeiten von Andreas Trobollowitsch geht es immer irgendwie um Bewegung. Entweder werden alle erdenklichen Objekte in Rotation versetzt – von an Walkmen befestigten Stiften \u00fcber Cellobogen Haare an Ventilatoren bis hin zu 2 Meter gro\u00dfen Plattformen samt Musikern oben drauf.\u00a0Oder es wippt ein ganzer Schwarm Melodikas an 6 Meter langen Blasrohren in luftiger H\u00f6he unregelm\u00e4\u00dfig im Takt, w\u00e4hrend diese von prallen Luftballons bespielt einen mikrotonalen Chor ergeben. Manchmal pfl\u00fcgt auch ein Klavier hinter einem Traktor hergezogen durch die Felder Nieder\u00f6sterreichs.\u00a0Man merkt schon, dass auch dem Publikum einiges an Beweglichkeit abverlangt wird – nicht zuletzt und besonders, was die eigenen Vorstellungen \u00fcber sich, die Dinge und eigentlich die ganze Welt anbelangt. Denn die Neugierde des K\u00fcnstlers blickt am liebsten hinter die Fassade des Allt\u00e4glichen; sieht im Bekannten immer auch dessen unvermutete Seiten und \u00f6ffnet so einen Zugang zu einer verborgenen Welt ungeahnter M\u00f6glichkeiten und ungenutzter Potenziale. OF WOOD AND SYNTHESIS<\/strong>: two solo performances by Andreas Trobollowitsch & Simina Oprescu<\/strong><\/p>\n

Andreas Trobollowitsch: DJ-HOLZ<\/strong><\/p>\n

DJ-Holz consists of mechanical turntables, grooved wooden discs, and dry tree branches of various shapes, lengths, and thicknesses. The sound generation is based on the friction between these two wooden materials\u2014specifically when the branches mechanically scan the rotating discs, similar to a ratchet mechanism. However, unlike a ratchet, every sound parameter can be precisely controlled (through seamless speed and pressure adjustments), allowing for smooth transitions between polyrhythms and soundscapes.<\/p>\n

Andreas Trobollowitsch is an Austrian composer, sound performer and artist.
\nBased on rotation, vibration and feedback systems he uses mainly modified everyday objects, prepared fans and string instruments. Over the last years he has been focusing primarily on conceptual compositions, self-developed musical instruments, sound and drawing installations. Interested in dichotomy of the intellectual and the physical he includes visual aspects, spatiality, movement, and the way that they relate to sound.<\/p>\n

A symbiosis of synthetic and organic soundscapes, navigating between immersive maximalist layers and stripped-back sonic minimalism. The performance sculpts acoustic spaces, weaving deep harmonic textures and resonant phenomena into an intricate narrative. Rooted in psychoacoustics, each piece acts as a living, evolving physical sound \u2014an exploration of perception that transforms the audience\u2019s awareness of their environment.<\/p>\n

Simina Oprescu is a Romanian composer of electroacoustic music and sound artist based in Berlin, Germany, submersing herself in the intricacies of sound’s acoustic and spectral properties. Her compositions embrace a diverse array of instruments, spanning from analog synthesizers to computer music or string instruments. Simina employs acoustic artifacts from physical or natural spaces as recordings, showcasing techniques cultivated through an investigative electroacoustic composition approach.<\/p>\n

Her work was presented in numerous festivals, music\/radio platforms, galleries and museums, collaborating with various international video artists, and her sound compositions were exhibited in EVA International | Ireland\u2019s Biennial, Museum Tinguely (Basel), Ma\u0308rkisches Museum (Berlin), Palmer Gallery (London), Art Encounters Foundation, MOTA Museum (Ljubljana), n.b.k Berlin, Hos\u030cek Contemporary, Suprainfinit Gallery (Bucharest), MARe museum (Bucharest), SONICA, Cynetart (DE), Rokolectiv (RO), Simultan (RO) or ORF musikprotokoll (AT) and having her work mentioned in various magazines, like Positionen Berlin or The Wire.
