Reworking prepared piano techniques through the prism of improvised music, she then applied herself to „introducing the prosaic nature of the contemporary world into the very belly of Western musical refinement“ and transforming her instrument into a kind of „extensive prep-piano“ or „extended piano“. She then laid the foundations for a radically materialist, lyrical, abstract and sensualist universe.
She collaborates with Josef Nadj („etc etc“), composes for the theatrical adaptation of Charles Reznikov’s „Testimony“, performs on stage with the poets Nicolas Tardy, Christophe Marchand Kiss, Christiane Veschambre… She performs with Barbara Dang in a four-handed performance of pieces by the composer Tom Johnson. In 2014, she joined the Orchestre National de Jazz (ONJ). With the help of the GMEA and luthier Laurent Paquier, she designed an experimental electro-acoustic instrument, the „cordophone/nOpiano“, opening up new horizons for her.
https://www.sophieagnel.net/

Joke Lanz
Turntablist Joke Lanz creates autonomous sound-cells that melt into a language free of any function.
