Diese archetypischen Lieder werden in Fragmente zerlegt und durch das Prisma minimal-progressiver Kompositionsmethoden neu komponiert. Durch die Verwendung von Wiederholungen als Filter tauchen Muster auf, die so lange bearbeitet werden, bis sie einen Punkt der Abstraktion erreichen. Aus der zeitgen\u00f6ssischen Tanz- und Performanceszene kommend, erforschen sie das Potenzial des mehrstimmigen Gesangs und kreieren verschiedene Pr\u00e4sentationsformate: Live-Sound-Installationen, Konzerte, partizipative Performances&#8230; Sie legen Wert darauf, traditionelle Musik mit neuer Musik und zeitgen\u00f6ssischer Performance zusammenzubringen. Bisher hat cowbirds mit in \u00d6sterreich und Deutschland lebenden Choreograph:innen, Komponist:innen und bildenden K\u00fcnstler:innen wie Paul Wenninger, Peter Jakober, Ra\u00fal Maia, Ben J. Riepe, Elisabeth B. Tambwe, Thomas Jelinek&#8230; zusammengearbeitet. Das Kollektiv pflegt auch einen regelm\u00e4\u00dfigen Austausch mit S\u00e4nger:innen und Musiker:innen aus Korsika und Sizilien. 2018 ver\u00f6ffentlichten sie ihr erstes Album mit mehrstimmigen Tracks &#8211; ein On-the-Road-Album, das im Geiste des Field Recordings entstanden ist.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/soundcloud.com\/cowbirds-music\/albums\">https:\/\/soundcloud.com\/cowbirds-music\/albums<\/a><br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/cowbirds.wordpress.com\/\">https:\/\/cowbirds.wordpress.com\/<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>en:<\/p>\n<p>In their new work, cowbirds take inspiration from traditional songs and murder ballads from Corsica, Ukraine and Poland. Coming from the contemporary dance &amp; performing\u00a0scene, they explore the potential of polyphonic singing and create different formats of presentation; live sound installations,\u00a0concerts,\u00a0participatory performances\u2026\u00a0They emphasize on bringing together traditional music with\u00a0new music\u00a0and\u00a0contemporary performance.\u00a0So far\u00a0cowbirds\u00a0has worked with Austria- and\u00a0Germany-based choreographers, composers and visual artists such as\u00a0Paul Wenninger,\u00a0Peter Jakober,\u00a0Ra\u00fal Maia,\u00a0Ben J.Riepe,\u00a0Elisabeth B. Tambwe,\u00a0Thomas Jelinek\u2026\u00a0 The collective also pursues a regular exchange with singers and musicians from Corsica and Sicily.
